兴趣爱好TranslaDocs: ATTENTION! You have to renew the sworn translator stamp in one week!
As we wrote at the time, Order AEC/2125/2014 on the title of Sworn Translator-Interpreter introduced a series of changes that modified more than just the exam, such as, for example, the format of the seal and the sworn translator's card.
The deadline stipulated for changing the seal was two years from when the law came into force (November 16, 2014), so Monday, November 15, 2016 is the last day.

If you have not yet changed your seal, you can do so this week in order to continue to have a valid seal.
Stamp format for sworn translations
Stamp template
The seal should copy this format, as is. An important change to note from the previous seal is that it no longer contains contact details. Instead, the Sworn Translator-Interpreter number must be included. If you don't know it, you can look it up by searching for your name in the M.A.E.C. listing (the number appears next to it).
We quote the order:
2. The seal must contain necessarily and exclusively, in Spanish and without the addition of any other mention or symbol, the following data:
a) Name and surname(s) of the Sworn Translator/Interpreter(s).
b) Language or languages for whose translation and interpretation he/she has been authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
c) Number of the Sworn Translator/Interpreter.
Design of the seal
When we saw the seal model, we wondered if its design had to be so sober. This is what we have been able to find out about it:
It is recommended that the ink should not be black (so that it is clearly distinguishable that the translation is the original and not a photocopy).
The type of font is not stipulated: from Júramelo we advise you to use, if you want, any other font, as long as it is sufficiently formal (as to put it in a document that will be delivered to an official body) and above all legible.
As a maximum ornament, a plain border without a legend.
It is necessary to be careful because the Office of Interpretation of Languages (the one in charge of regulating it) may reject it, for example, if the shape is other than rectangular.
As for the size, no information is given. You can find more details about it in the practical guide we published when the order came into force.
Formalizing the seal with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
You may be wondering how to notify the Office of Interpretation of Languages that we have already renewed it. You don't have to go there, but don't worry! Just send an email to this address with the new seal scanned and the data.
